Learn the Art of Weaving in Italy
Hello and welcome! I’m Pat Kinsella, and I run Tessitura del Mandorlo, a weaving school in the hilltop village of Guardistallo, overlooking the beautiful Etruscan Coast of Tuscany. Whether you’re picking up a shuttle for the first time or you’ve been weaving for years, I’d love to share this space—and this craft—with you.
The Studio
The studio is housed in what was once a small monastery, with classic stone walls and high vaulted ceilings that hold centuries of quiet. It’s a space that invites focus, reflection, and creativity—perfect for weaving.
Where We Are
Guardistallo is a charming hilltop village just a few minutes from the sea in central Tuscany. We’re close to Volterra, Bolgheri, and the vineyards of the Val di Cecina. Many students choose to extend their stay and explore the region—it’s a beautiful part of the world.

Here, I offer hands-on courses in both English and Italian, welcoming students into a quiet studio space where tradition and experimentation meet. Whether you're just beginning or looking to deepen your practice, I’d love to share this journey with you.
